Lipps, Inc.

Lipps, Inc. was a disco and funk band formed in the United States in the 1970s.

The band was founded by music producer Steven Greenberg and had its peak of popularity in the late 1970s and early 1980s.

Cynthia Johnson served as lead vocalist, showcasing her powerful and soulful voice to captivate the audience. Additionally, Johnson showcased his saxophone skills, adding a unique and dynamic element to the group's sound.

The rest of the group consisted of a varying lineup of studio musicians, including guitarist David Rivkin, guitarist Tom Riopelle or bassist Terry Grant.

The band's most famous song, "Funkytown", released in 1979, became an international success, reaching the top of the charts in several countries. The track was known for its danceable rhythm, addictive synth beats and captivating vocals.
